This privacy policy describes how the Marpipe Image Feed Builder Chrome extension ("the Extension") handles your data. The Extension is published by Marpipe, Inc. ("Marpipe", "we", "us"). It is a separate product from the main Marpipe web application, and this policy applies only to the Extension.
What the Extension Does
The Extension helps you turn a Google Drive folder of images or videos into a CSV feed that can be imported into Marpipe as an additional source feed. It runs entirely in your browser as a Chrome side panel and only acts on folders you explicitly open.
Data We Access
To do its job, the Extension accesses the following data via Google APIs, using the OAuth scopes you approve at sign-in:
- Google Drive (read-only access — drive.readonly) — Lists files in the Drive folder you are viewing, including filename, MIME type, thumbnail URL, and file ID. Used to display a grid of images and to extract identifiers from filenames.
- Google Drive (per-file access — drive.file) — Allows the Extension to set sharing permissions on the specific files you select, so the resulting feed URLs are publicly viewable as required by Marpipe's feed system. Only files you explicitly select are affected.
- Google Sheets (spreadsheets) — Used only when you choose the "Export to Google Sheets" option. Creates or appends to a spreadsheet that you specify.
- Google account identity (identity) — Used to obtain an OAuth token so the API calls above can be made on your behalf.
The Extension also reads the URL of your active Google Drive tab so it can detect which folder you are viewing.
Data We Store
All data created or used by the Extension is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This includes:
- The folder ID and file metadata for the Drive folder you most recently loaded
- Your column configuration, extraction rules, and export preferences
- Working drafts of your feed before export
We do not transmit this data to Marpipe's servers, and we do not store it on any server controlled by Marpipe. Generated CSVs are downloaded directly to your computer; generated Google Sheets are written directly to your Google account.
Data We Do Not Collect
The Extension does not:
- Collect personal information beyond the Google account you sign in with
- Send analytics, telemetry, or usage data to Marpipe or any third party
- Sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties
- Use your data for advertising, profiling, or training machine-learning models
- Access Drive folders other than the one you are actively viewing
Third Parties
The only third party the Extension communicates with is Google (Drive API, Sheets API, and OAuth endpoints), which is required for the Extension to function. Your use of Google services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
