Best Ads

Most best-ads lists collect awards-show film. This one collects catalog creative, the kind of advertising ecommerce brands actually run across thousands of SKUs. Every concept was built in Marpipe from publicly available product imagery, and every one shows the plain feed image beside the enriched version.

Start from the ad you actually need to build

01

A good catalog ad is judged differently to a good ad

Award lists reward a single idea executed once. A catalog ad has to hold up across every product in a feed, including the ones nobody art-directed. That changes what good means. The strongest catalog creative is legible at thumbnail size, survives a long product title without breaking layout, and still looks deliberate when the price, the image crop and the promotion all change underneath it. The concepts collected here were chosen on that basis rather than on how memorable a single frame is. Browse by platform to see how the same product is handled across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest and Google Shopping.

02

The same product, built for three different jobs

One product image can support a prospecting ad, a retargeting ad and a promotional ad, and the three should not look identical. Prospecting creative needs context, so it carries lifestyle imagery or a benefit line. Retargeting creative assumes recognition, so it leans on price, stock or reviews. Promotional creative leads with the offer and gets out of the way. Most of the lift in catalog advertising comes from making that distinction at the template level rather than shipping one design to every placement and audience. Browse by format and concept to compare how a carousel, a static, a video and a collection handle the same job.

03

Judge creative at catalog scale, not one ad at a time

Build product sets, apply labels and segment your catalog for better targeting.

FAQ

[ 01 ]
Are these real ads that these brands ran?

No. Every concept on this page was built by the Marpipe team using Marpipe, starting from publicly available product imagery. None of them were run as advertising by the brands shown, none were commissioned by those brands, and no brand featured here has a commercial relationship with Marpipe. Each concept card is labelled "created with Marpipe" on the image itself.

[ 02 ]
How were these selected as the best?

On catalog performance criteria rather than creative awards. A concept earns a place here if it stays legible at feed thumbnail size, holds its layout when product titles and prices vary, keeps branding consistent across an entire product set, and adds information a shopper can actually act on. Memorability on its own is not a criterion, because a catalog ad is rarely seen twice.

[ 03 ]
Why are there no Super Bowl or television ads here?

Because they answer a different question. Broadcast and awards-circuit creative is built once, at high cost, for a single placement. This library covers catalog advertising, where the same creative system has to generate thousands of variations from a product feed. The skills barely overlap, and the constraints do not overlap at all.

[ 04 ]
Do these approaches work for a small catalog?

Yes, though the economics change. A brand with fifty SKUs can reasonably design creative by hand, so the benefit is consistency and speed rather than pure volume. The techniques become difficult to avoid somewhere above a few hundred products, when hand-building every ad stops being possible and the alternative is publishing bare feed images.

[ 05 ]
Can I use these concepts for my own ads?

Use the thinking, not the files. The product imagery in each concept belongs to the brand that owns it, so the assets themselves are not yours to run. The layout logic, the choice of what to overlay, and the way information is prioritised are all transferable to your own catalog, and that is what each breakdown is written to explain.
